Regional Group provided geotechnical drilling services for solar farm earthing and electrical works in Dubbo, New South Wales. The project spanned 9 months, with drilling holes ranging from 150mm to 300mm in diameter and depths of 2 to 6 meters.
Challenges arose due to the size of the site and varying ground conditions. However, our versatile drilling rig, capable of both DTH drilling and auguring from the same setup, addressed these issues. The rig, mounted on tracks and towing a compressor, allowed for quick maneuverability across the site, minimising the need for constant truck movements.
The project achieved significant efficiency, with the rig able to drill up to 300 meters per day with a two-man operational crew.
